#428 HOW TO WRITE A MYSTERY ~ Have you always wanted to write a mystery but don’t know where to begin?  Coming up with ideas, developing characters and building a sense of place can be intimidating unless you know how.  We’ll cover those building blocks as well as how to write believable dialogue, create tension and bring action scenes to life.  Learn  how to approach an agent and sell your manuscript.  Each class will involve writing exercises and brainstorming with the instructor and fellow students in a supportive, professional atmosphere. #431 CREATIVE WRITING FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS ~ Would you like to write for children and/or teenagers? You may already have ideas to develop or have written on your own but need guidance to polish your work and find publishers? This class offers a solid basis for beginners, along with techniques to help more experienced writers improve and market their work. As we discuss plotting, viewpoint, characterization, dialogue, and scene development, we’ll study specific examples of effective writing and practice our skills. (Instructor, Victoria Sherrow)
