ROSES FOR THE BEGINNER ~
Rose growing will be demystified with guaranteed success. Plan
and prepare for April 1st planting. Learn about the New Generation
Roses, developed by Jackson & Perkins, which are more
prolific with ever-blooming roses and less work to maintain. All
cultivars will be evaluated. We will also discuss the new “carefree”
multi-color ever-blooming varieties, patio roses in containers, the new
heat zone map, and all stages of rose cultivation using color slides.
The instructor’s book, “Rose Growing Simplified”, and the “American Rose
Society’s Handbook for Selecting Roses” will be used as texts, and
catalogs, flyers, and pamphlets will be distributed. A prize of a rose
bush will be drawn at the completion of the class. (Instructor, Armand

and in your thinking. Feng shui is an art that teaches you how to
arrange things spatially, but more importantly, how to become more
conscious of how your physical environment is affecting you. Through
this lively and informative course in Classical Feng Shui, you will
learn how to enhance your home and work environments by stimulating
areas that are the most auspicious and reducing the ones with the most

the interior of your home more functional and attractive. Learn about
space planning including how to do a floor plan. We will also cover
color selection and learn about fabric, trim and window treatment.

how to use them. Use tools such as a stud finder (handy when hanging

the tub), and a cordless drill/driver (it’s simpler than you think).

~ Learn how to repair small holes in drywall, repair the most common
problem with leaky toilets, caulking techniques for a finished look,
wall hangings with correct choice of fasteners and painting for the
novice. Hands on workshop for anyone who wants to try out becoming a
DIYer (Do-It-Yourselfer). (Instructor, Jan Brown)
