What we learn with pleasure we never forget.
Westport Continuing Education picks up where school leaves off. With no grades, no tests, and no homework, we like to think we put the pleasure back into learning, for students and for teachers. WCE provides classes, workshops, and clinics on all kinds of subjects, from art to Zumba. And we're always looking for interesting, engaging, and relevant new classes and new instructors.
If you have a hobby, a talent, or an area of personal interest that you'd like to share with like-minded others, consider teaching for us. If you find that the time constraints of a 180-day school year and the demands of the new Common Core mean that you can't teach your favorite unit, consider teaching for us. If your business would benefit from greater exposure or if you want to get the word out about your new line of work, consider teaching for us.
The first step is to complete the course proposal application form.
We'll review your application and contact you to arrange an interview with our director.
Our classes follow the Westport Public School calendar, and they vary in length and duration. Our three terms are:
- Summer: June to August – application deadline December 15
- Fall: September to December – application deadline May 15
- Winter/Spring: January to May – application deadline October 16
Your curriculum, your schedule, your students' age... all that is up to you. We offer great flexibility and a relaxed and fun work environment. And we know that our teachers are our greatest resource, so we do everything we can to support them.
If you've never forgotten the great pleasure of learning something new, consider teaching for us. We look forward to hearing from you!
